Welcome!
FitMinds was started by parents, for parents.
We know what it feels like to search for the right support—because we’ve been there ourselves. As parents of neurodivergent children, we built FitMinds from a place of deep empathy, lived experience, and a strong belief in every child’s potential.
We’re not just professionals— we are parents who understand the daily joys and challenges. Our mission is simple: to meet your child where they are, and to walk alongside you—step by step—as they grow.
Community is at the heart of what we do. Neurodivergent children thrive when they are seen, understood, and supported—not just by professionals, but by a caring network of peers, mentors, and families who "get it."
Every client processes movement and body awareness differently. Differences in kinesthetic and sensorimotor processing can show up as unique movement patterns, motor planning challenges, or distinct sensory preferences.
That’s why forcing a fitness routine without the right support isn’t just ineffective—it can lead to stress, trauma, and a sense of failure. At FitMinds, we take a different approach.
Our fitness coaches break down each goal into manageable, meaningful steps. Whether it’s developing strength, improving balance, or working toward a larger goal like running, we build the necessary foundations—core stability, joint flexibility, motor coordination, and endurance—step by step.
By meeting clients where they are and scaffolding skill development, we make fitness not only achievable, but empowering.
At FitMinds, our Fitness and Hobby Development programs are thoughtfully designed around each client’s sensory, emotional, and regulation needs. While a typical community gym might be a good fit for some, for many neurodivergent individuals, such spaces can feel overwhelming due to sensory overload.
That’s why we offer a gradual, client-centered approach—starting in comfortable, familiar environments like a garage gym or home setup. If and when the client is ready, we support the transition to more inclusive community spaces, always based on their readiness and preference.
Most importantly, we center the voices of our clients. Many are spellers who communicate clearly what inclusion looks like for them. We honor this input instead of applying a one-size-fits-all approach to inclusion.
Our Hobby Development sessions are also planned with intention—taking place in community settings during quieter times, so clients can engage meaningfully without being overstimulated. It’s about creating opportunities for authentic participation, not just presence.
